UMIDIGI F1: Waterdrop Notch Design & Android 9.0

The year is still young and smartphones from last year continue to dominate the market. UMIDIGI F1, for instance, is currently selling like hotcakes mainly for its decent outlook and the premium features it packs. The device debuted in 2018 and has nearly all the trendy specs in the phones of the time. Including Android 9.0, which is the latest version.

Design & Display

Just like many other models in competition, the UMIDIGI F1 gadget has a modern look that will surely look good on you. It takes the form of a sleek design that has vibrant features all over its body. The overall dimensions measure 74.34×156.9×8.8mm. A size that consequently gives the product a lightweight of about 186 grams only. It comes in Gold, Red and Black colors.

Evident on the front display is a super cute waterdrop notch that houses the Selfie camera. That is the only physical feature integrated into the front display. Otherwise, all the bezels are shrunk to leave a large acre of the screen in an edge-to-edge display. Multimedia consumers and gamers particularly are fond of screens like this because there is room for more activity.

On the top left corner of the back cover is a dual vertical camera with 16MP and 8MP sensors. The camera has a massive aperture, f/1.7, which couples with Helio P60 processor to produce high-quality photos. And then the fingerprint sensor has been placed adjacent to the rear camera, but slightly lower.

When it comes to the display, UMIDIGI F1 has a big screen, about 6.3-inches. It is a multi-touch screen with a resolution of 1080×2340 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. Contents in the screen display vibrantly even when outdoors on a hot sunny day. The 2.5D curved glass gives it a robust build that survives tough floors when the device accidentally slips.

Software & Performance

In charge of running all the programs is a powerful Helio P60 chipset. F1 runs on the latest Android 9.0. Which is obviously the most upgraded version of all the previous models. That means better performance and efficiency for the device. This is an area that most phones, especially the older models, have a laxity. A phone that has a slower response to commands is a disappointment to heavy game graphics and huge media files like videos.

UMIDIGI F1 comes with a RAM of 4GB and 128GB internal storage memory space. And for those who might consider the phone memory as insufficient there is an option to input a memory card. But you must be willing to use a single Sim card. Because the Sim 2 slot can be used to either with microSD card or Sim. But not both at the same time.

Battery & Other Features

The smartphone has a big 5150mAh battery that does not run out of juice every other moment. Its standby time is up to 500 hours and supports fast charging. However, it does not support wireless charging technology. Which is one of the most advanced technologies that was first initiated by iPhone.

It would be so inappropriate to wrap up the details without a mention of the UMIDIGI F1’s ability to support NFC. Contactless transactions are becoming the new efficient medium of exchange. Mainly because they are fast, safer, safeguards your financial privacy, and is less susceptible to fraud.
