Cubot X18: Latest Bezel-Less Flagship of Cubot

Two years after releasing the X17, Cubot recently released its latest flagship Cubot X18 which comes with an 18:9 display aspect ratio and measures 5.7-inch across. Is this handset worth to buy? Let’s go ahead and have a quick review on it.

Design & Display

Cubot X18 has a bezel-less design in a CNC frame and plastic bady. Its top and bottom areas are very small which reaches a 83% screen-to-body ratio. It uses on-screen buttons and fingerprint sensor at the rear panel. The thickness of the X18 is about 8.5mm. With the curve designed cover, it offers a smooth ergonomic grip. Cubot X18 is available in two color variants: Blue and Golden. The X18 comes with a 5.7-inch 18:9 display of 720×1440 resolution. It is fully covered in 2.5D glass with curved sides to make it more ergonomic with the glass being fully laminated so the display will have a sleeker look.

Configuration & Performance

The Cubot X18 sports Mediatek MT6737T chipset and Mali-T720 MP2 GPU, along with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. It supports external memory up to 128GB with TF card. It’s powered by a Li-Po 3200 mAh battery which gives the smartphone a good battery backup. The Cubot X18 runs on Android OS v7.0 (Nougat) out of the box, but the X18’s firmware can be upgraded to a newer version of OS.


As for photography, the X18 is equipped with a 13.0MP ( SW 16.0MP ) with an f/2.2 aperture that’ll take good high-lit photos. The selfie camera is an 8.00MP ( SW 13.0MP ) camera that included a selfie soft light flash. Moreover, the camera of the Cubot X18 is equipped with autofocus that fine-tunes the focus of the camera.

Antutu & Geekbench Scores

In order to better understand the performance, we use Antutu and Geekbench 3 to test its benchmark scores. As shown below, it scored 31,597 points on the Antutu benchmark and it scored 594 points on Single-core test and 1,780 points on Multi-core test on Geekbench 3.
