Designers and engineers at PiPO thought of doing something unique to combine tablet features with a Mini-PC and add both Windows and Android to the recipe. The end result is X9, which is unlike most devices out there and a niche product that also has the potential to attract general users. The hybrid device looks more like a POS terminal or kiosk and is designed to be used in a fixed position. Powered by a Quadcore processor and 2 gigs of ram, the device carries enough power to ensure a smooth user experience. Media support is also good and X9 is able to play most formats without any issues.
Featuring Full HDMI, USB and Ethernet ports, PiPO X9 contains a little bit of everything and combines features of Tablets, Mini-PCs and TV Boxes. The multi-purpose device can serve a variety of purposes such as in the kitchen for reading recopies, as a media player or a home automation controller. The Full HD display offers crisp and sharp images and nothing gets pixelated, thanks to the high ppi number. Intel Atom quadcore processor coupled with 2GB ram is good enough to run both Windows 10 and Android smoothly. Everything works just fine and programs run smoothly. However, the internals are not good enough for serious gaming, heavy multitasking and other resource-intensive stuff. The device comes with 32 gigs of onboard storage, but you can expand it using the expansion slot as Windows 10 and Android take a significant chunk of the built-in storage.

Conclusion
Although the device is meant to be used as a fixed-device, PiPO should have installed at least a low capacity battery to provide some backup in case of a power outage or children pulling out the power chord. It’s also not something you would want to use on your lap for long periods of time. X9 serves its purpose well when used as a fixed device and suits users who want capable hardware to perform a variety of tasks. If you are looking for a portable, dedicated Android or Windows tablet, then X9 is not for you. However, there are not many affordable options available that come with decent specifications, two operating systems and all the ports you’d ever need, which makes X9 a good buy. PiPO managed to successfully come up with an affordable, dual-boot mini PC that has a built-in Full HD display and contains all the power you’d need to get your usual stuff done.
