2017 Chinese new year will be celebrated from January 25th to February 2nd. During this timeframe, the entire country stops for the most important festival of the year. In this article we describe how this event will affect GearBest service

Customer Service

GearBest customer service will run in a “limited mode”. Part of the staff will be available to process tickets respecting ticket priority. If your ticket requires a shipping action, you might receive a response from February 2nd afterward

Warehouses

  • Chinese warehouses: close from the 24th of January to the 31st of January
  • Hong Kong 1 warehouse: close from the 28th of January to the 1st of February
  • Hong Kong 2 warehouse: close from the 26th of January to the 2nd of February
  • EU (London) warehouse: works normally
  • ES warehouse: works normally
  • US (New York) warehouse: works normally
  • US (Los Angeles) warehouse: works normally

For EU and US warehouses GearBest won’t have any issue dispatching parcels. There might be small delays if additional requests are made in checkout notes as they have to be processed in China by GB customer support

Deliveries

Any parcel in China from the 25th of January might be subject to delays until February 2nd. If your parcel is already outside China and Hong Kong you can expect a normal delivery, more precisely:

  • Flat Rate: Local posts might pick the parcel during CNY but there might be delays until the 2nd of February
  • Priority Lines: Full stop
  • Expedited Line: DHL will pick the parcel only if able to grant a normal shipping
