ZUK Z2 Pro is Lenovo’s second flagship with a lot of improvements over its predecessor Z1. It excites a lot of tech enthusiasts as it’s one of the very few phones with a whopping 6GB RAM and Snapdragon 820 processor. The phone also boasts generous internal memory, capable camera setup, fingerprint sensor, heart-rate monitor and adopts a fresh and more streamlined design.
ZUK Z2 Pro is Lenovo’s latest offering, which puts other Chinese flagships to shame with its massive RAM and latest Snapdragon processor. Compared to its predecessor Z1, Z2 Pro comes with quite a few significant changes in design, including narrower bezels, curved 2.5D display and an all-new 3D glass rear panel. Compared to its competitors, including OnePlus 3 which remains its worthy competitor, Lenovo ZUK Z2 Pro offers a pretty decent set of features, particularly the very high-brightness, high-contrast Super AMOLED display.

Design and Built quality
Z2 Pro scores very high when it comes to design and durability. Narrow bezels, 2.5D curved display and a 3D glass rear glass panel makes the phone quite a looker. Unlike most other phones, the rear glass panel is tough and remains scuff-free over time. Despite the 5.2-inch display, the phone is very easy to use with one hand and weighs only 145-grams. The body is crafted out of a single piece of metal after going through 260 processes and 3D diamond wire saw, while the Rollcage damping structure is shockproof and able to resist compression.
Hardware and performance
Z2 Pro boasts Snapdragon 820 processor, 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage space, which is roughly equal to a desktop computer. The performance is simply stunning and the phone outperforms most competitors without breaking a sweat. With 6GB RAM, it doesn’t really matter how many apps you are running in parallel, even the most demanding ones.
The f/1.8 aperture 13MP OIS camera is fast and able to capture detailed and vivid photos. It shows equally impressive performance in low-light environments. The camera is also able to shoot slow-motion 980fps footages, which is an excellent feature for capturing fast moving objects. The front camera also works well and performs better than the most.
The 5.2-inch ONSELL Full HD Super AMOLED is a beauty to look at and offers exceptional contrast, vivid colors and power efficiency. It supports both 100% NTSC and sRGB color modes, allowing you to change the setting as per your liking. The 500-nit brightness display ensures that you have more than enough brightness to view the display even under direct sunlight, without distorting the image quality. The brightness can also go down to as low as 1nit for a more comfortable viewing experience at night.
Battery Life, Software and other features
Z2 Pro is well optimized for a better battery life, and the 3100 mAh battery ensures that the juice lasts for two days under normal usage. The built-in body-oxygen and heart-rate sensors provide real time data, which helps optimizing exercise schedules. ZUI on top of Android Marshmallow offers a simplistic and elegant user interface loaded with some nice features and performance optimizations. The front-facing fingerprint scanner is even able to register wet fingers and increases reading accuracy via its self-learning abilities. The fingerprint scanner can also be used to perform gestures like double tapping, single taping, long press and horizontal scrolling.
Lenovo ZUK Z2 Pro is a capable performer and compared to its predecessor, offers improvements in almost all aspects. ZUK is the latest sub-brand of Lenovo and openly challenges other big market players like Samsung, HTC, SONY and of course One Plus 3. The freshly announced Z2 Pro is a force to reckon with its elegant design and powerful internals. Support for Apple iCloud isn’t something one usually finds on an Android phone. Overall, ZUK Z2 Pro is an excellent package and provides a good bang for the buck.
